K-pop is becoming more and more widespread in the world, both in Asia and in western countries. Furthermore, the indie music of Korea which used to be considered as minority are recently revealed and re-evaluated by the world. Hence, no one would deny that K-pop has become the major industries and cultural aspects in Korea nowadays.
However, in spite of its global popularity, it is evident there are only few opportunities to have a glance at the past pop music not only for foreigners, but also for Koreans. Even though the development of Korean pop music has become a significant aspect both in the cultural history and in the current K-pop, it is evident that Korean historians have been neglecting the importance by themselves. Considering the current topology of K-pop as mentioned, thus, the history of K-pop should be re-evaluated. That's why I made this blog.
The aim of this blog is not only to introduce the Korean classic pop music to the public including foreigners, but also to provide an opportunity to retrospect the Korean culture. Most of the posts in this blog are going to be about the greatest albums and artists that immensely contributed Korean pop music during the period from the establishment of the government of the Republic of Korea to the late 90s.
It would be the most biggest pleasure for me if you realized the true value of Korean classic. Even though there would be many grammatical or contextual errors due to my poor English, I promise that I would try to examine every texts in this blog thoroughly, and in case you found out such errors, please add comments below posts.

한국 대중음악은 아시아에서 뿐만 아니라 서구권 국가들에서도 점점 퍼져나가고 있습니다. 더 나아가, 비주류로 인식되었던 한국 인디 음악도 세계로 인해 새롭게 조명되고 또 재평가되고 있습니다. 따라서, 한국 대중음악이 한국에서의 주요 산업 또는 문화적 양상으로 발전됐다는 것을 부정하는 이는 아무도 없을 것입니다.
그러나, 이러한 한국 대중음악의 국제적 유명세에도 불구하고, 한국의 과거 대중음악을 접할 기회가 얼마 없다는 것은 현실입니다. 한국 대중음악의 발전은 한국 문화사와 현대 한국 대중 음악에 커다란 양상을 보이고 있음에도 불구하고, 한국 사학가들은 스스로 그러한 중요성을 잊어왔습니다. 앞서 언급했던 한국 대중음악의 위상을 고려해볼 때, 따라서, 한국 대중음악의 역사는 재평가 되어야 합니다. 바로 그것이 이 블로그를 개설한 이유입니다.
이 블로그의 목적은 한국의 고전 대중 음악을 외국인을 포함한 대중에게 소개하는 것뿐만 아니라, 한국 문화를 되돌아 볼 수 있는 자리를 마련하는 것입니다. 따라서, 이 블로그의 대부분 글들은 대한민국 정부 수립 시기부터 90년대 중기까지 한국 대중 음악계에 막대한 영향을 끼친 음반들과 아티스트들에 초점을 맞추게 될 것입니다.
이 블로그를 통해 한국 고전 대중 음악의 가치를 깨닫게 된다면, 그것은 제 가장 큰 기쁨이 될 것입니다. 제 부족한 영어로 인한 많은 문법적 또는 문맥적 실수들이 있을 수 있겠습니다만, 이러한 실수들을 미연에 방지하기 위해서 이 블로그에 있는 글들을 면밀히 확인할 것을 약속드리는 바이며, 혹여나 그러한 경우가 있다면 게시물에 코멘트를 달아주시길 바랍니다.
